Area Description : When visiting the hotel, make sure that you don't go home without taking a tour of the Bogside - Free Derry, Murals, Bloody Sunday Memorial. The Bogside Artists have painted all these murals and there are 12 of them in total over time these murals have become known as the The Peoples Gallery. Painted between 1997 and 2001 the murals are a commemoration of the events of the trouble of the BogsideYou must make a visit along the City Walls, steeped in history. The walls were built in the 17th century as defenses for early settlers and are approximately 1 mile in circumference; they form a walkway around the inner city. A number of companies offer guided tours of the city, including the walls and are well worth using to find out about the unique history of this special city feature
